One address, for everything: hello@bentright.com. There is no form to fill in and no account to make — email is simpler and it does not set a cookie.

What is worth an email

A result you think is wrong is the most useful thing you can send. Tell me the calculator, the numbers you put in, and what you got — the formula is on every page, so a disagreement is easy to run down. Corrections get priority over everything else, because being right is the only thing this site has.

What makes a correction easy to run down

Four lines and I can usually reproduce it in a minute. Without them it is guesswork.

If the disagreement is about a mark on real pipe rather than about the arithmetic, it is worth doing the test bend first — the commonest cause by a long way is a take-up figure that does not match the tool.

  1. Which page. The address, or just the name of the bend.
  2. Exactly what you typed. Every field, as you typed it — 1' 3 1/2" and 15.5 are the same length but not the same input, and if one of them is mishandled that is the bug. Say whether the site was on Imperial or Metric.
  3. What it showed and what you expected. Both numbers. "It is out by about a quarter" is a different problem from "it is out by a factor of two".
  4. Phone or desktop, and which browser. Only matters for a layout or a button that will not press, but then it matters a lot.

What I cannot help with

Anything that needs the code book or the inspector. How many bends are allowed between pull points, minimum radius, support spacing, fill, whether a method is permitted where you are — those have answers, they are just not mine to give, and the reasoning is on the disclaimer page. I also cannot tell you whether an install you describe in an email will pass; the person who can is the authority having jurisdiction for that job.

What I can do is make sure the geometry underneath your question is right, and point you at the page that covers it.

Requests and everything else

If there is a bend you keep working out by hand that is not here yet, say so; the page inventory grows from real requests. Questions about how a calculator works are welcome too. Replies come when they come — this is a small, one-subject site, not a support desk.
